200 children will participate this Friday in the “Green Week Unizar”

(Zaragoza, Wednesday, June 1, 2022). The Huesca and Teruel campuses and the San Francisco campus in Zaragoza join the “Green Week” as of this Friday, June 3, as a prelude to the European Night of Researchers and Researchers, which will be held on the last Friday of September. And they do it with workshops, scientific-healthy breakfasts, gymkhanas, sustainable mobility activities, experiments in El Rincón de la Ciencia, as well as talks on nutrition and health and circular economy, in which 200 primary school children from the three cities will participate: 100 in Zaragoza, 50 in Huesca and another 50 in Teruel.

At 10:00 a.m., simultaneously, a climate manifesto will be read together with the participating students on each campus at the following points:

The activities of the “Green Week” are part of the European project “G9Missiones, Go for the Missions!” of the 9 Universities Group, to which the University of Zaragoza belongs. This project is managed by the respective Scientific Culture Units and funded by the European Union within Horizon Europe: Framework Program for Research and Innovation, under grant agreement number 101061455.

World Bicycle Day (June 3), World Environment Day (June 5) and World Oceans Day (June 8) inspire the “Green Week” outreach program with a clear leading role of science against climate change. Thus, on June 3 in each of the universities, a reading of a manifesto will be read showing the commitment of the G-9 institutions to promote and support research related to the missions of the Horizon Europe Research and Innovation program of the Union European (EU): Soil Health and Food, Cancer, Adaptation to Climate Change, Smart and Climate Neutral Cities.
