Ángel Luis Monge succeeds Agustín Ubieto as head of Alumni Zaragoza. The extraordinary general assembly, held on June 17, approved a major renewal of the board of directors. Prominent academic figures joining the board include former Rector of the University of Zaragoza, Felipe Pétriz; the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Javier Lanuza; and the Director of CIFICE, José Domingo Dueñas. Mónica Vázquez, Professor and Director of the Department of Art History, has been appointed Vice President. Pedro Pardo and Pedro Ciria will continue in their roles as Treasurer and Secretary, respectively.

Also continuing as board members are Eliseo Serrano (Vice-Rector for Culture and Heritage), Jesús Gascón (Coordinator of the Modern History Area), Ana Cristina Aznar, Pilar Lozano, Juan Pagán, Pilar Pueyo, and Virginia Tabuenca. Finally, Agustín Ubieto has been named Honorary President.

Alumni Zaragoza works to strengthen the connection between alumni and the university, fostering a sense of belonging through the celebration of class anniversaries, cultural activities, and lectures.

In this new phase, under the guidance of the Vice-Rectorate for Communication and Institutional Identity, led by Professor of Journalism Carmen Marta, Alumni Zaragoza and the University of Zaragoza are working hand in hand to engage with society and enhance the pride of belonging—or having belonged—to such an ancient and exemplary Aragonese institution.
