The professor of Administrative Law at the University of Zaragoza, Antonio Embid Irujo, will be appointed doctor honoris causa by the Catholic University of Santiago del Estero. At the investiture ceremony, which will be held on April 20 at the Argentine university, he will give the conference “Legislate and act on climate change”, in which he will influence the uncertainties posed by the fight against climate change.
In addition, in the reading he will point out the errors that have occurred in the past, the need to attend to the permanent investigations on the matter and the possibility that the courts, as is happening in different European countries, such as the Netherlands and Germany, consider the measures adopted insufficient. by the Administration and the derived consequences.
It is the fourth doctorate awarded to Antonio Embid in Latin America, he has also directed numerous doctoral theses to Latin American professors and is currently a visiting professor at different universities in the area. He was president of the Cortes de Aragón (1983-1987) and has been invited on two occasions (1984, 1999) by the United States Government to learn about the university, territorial, environmental and water policies of that country.
Embid is a member of the Legal Advisory Commission and the Consultative Council of Aragon, Grand Cross of the Order of Alfonso X el Sabio (2007), and president of the Ramón Sáinz de Varanda Foundation (since 2006) dedicated to the study of local issues and author of more than twenty books and numerous articles on matters of his specialty.
