(Zaragoza. Wednesday, February 12, 2025). On February 20, 2025, the event “Legal Perspectives on Climate, Water, and Energy” will take place at 9:00 a.m. in the Sala de Grados at the Faculty of Law. This academic gathering will bring together experts in environmental law, public administration, and taxation to analyze the regulatory and legislative challenges in these areas.
The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the opening presentation and keynote speech by Mr. Antonio Embid Irujo, who will share his insights on research and teaching in the legal field. Following this, four roundtable discussions will be held to address various legal perspectives on the management of climate, water, and energy:
- Interdisciplinary Perspectives, with discussions on the relationship between law and territory, climate litigation in the Supreme Court, and adaptive water management in the context of climate change.
- Perspectives from Administrative Law, focusing on the development of renewable energies, hydropower use, and the legal and political challenges of the climate emergency.
- Perspectives from Financial Law, with presentations on water taxation, environmental taxes, and taxation in the energy sector.
- Perspectives from International and Comparative Law, examining the general principles of international water law, the monitoring mechanisms of the Paris Agreement, and the influence of legal complexity on environmental regulation.
The event will feature the participation of researchers from the AGUDEMA research group, including Mr. Francisco Pellicer Corellano, Ms. Beatriz Setuaín Mendía, Mr. Sergio Salinas Alcega, Mr. Eloy M.
