On Saturday, May 10, 2025, the town of Casbas hosted Geolodía Huesca. Representing the University of Zaragozawas Aránzazu Luzón (from the GEOtransfer-IUCA group), who collaborated with members of the Valle de la Gloria Association, IGE–CSIC, and Apudepa.
Despite poor weather conditions, a group of 115 people completed the geological field route, which culminated in a visit to the karstic Chaves Cave. This marked the first time in 18 years that visitors were allowed access to the site, whose archaeological remains were destroyed in an infamous looting.
Geolodía is a nationwide science outreach initiative promoted by the Geological Society of Spain, offering free, public geological field trips guided by professional geologists.
