(Zaragoza, Friday, May 2, 2025). Throughout May and June, professor and researcher Miguel Ángel Pallarés Jiménez (ARGOS–IUCA) will deliver the online lecture series “The Jews in Aragon”, which will explore various aspects of Jewish presence in the Aragonese territories, from the Middle Ages to the 20th century.
The series consists of four sessions, free and open to the public:

A journey through the great Hebrew thinkers who lived in Zaragoza during the 11th and 12th centuries, such as Ibn Gabirol and Hasday Ben Crescas.
📅 May 22, 6:00 PM | The Incunabula Printing Press of Híjar (Teruel)
An analysis of the Hebrew printing workshop of Híjar, the only one in the Crown of Aragon during the incunabula period.
📅 May 27, 6:00 PM | Jews and Jewish Quarters in Aragon on the Eve of the Expulsion Edict (1492)
A look at the cultural and architectural heritage of Aragon’s Jewish quarters before their expulsion.
📅 June 3, 6:00 PM | The Aragonese Diplomats Ángel Sanz Briz and Sebastián de Romero Radigales, Righteous Among the Nations
A reflection on the humanitarian efforts of these two diplomats during the Holocaust, recognized by Yad Vashem.
