The group IUCA Aragosaurus–led the study of differences in the formation of eggshells of dinosaurs.
The techniques applied to fossils have been electron microscopy and explain the different strategies used incubation.
They distinguish theropod dinosaurs, carnivorous, which would form the shell organic unchecked, causing eggs very stiff. And moreover the hadrosaurs that crystal defects introduced to weaken the structure of calcite and create more fragile eggs.
The work led by researcher Miguel Moreno–Azanza Aragosaurus–IUCA group has been published in the Journal of Paleontology Vertebreate.
